Welcome to
Children's O&P Services
We have been striving to provide the best possible orthotic and prosthetic treatment available for your children.
Unlike most O&P providers who treat all age groups, we focus strictly on the pediatric population.
About Us
At Children’s O&P Services we strive to provide your child with the best orthotic or prosthetic care available today. We have over 40 years of combined direct patient contact experience behind us. We typically fabricate everything right here in our office. We will assess the needs of your child and work closely with their physician and therapists for the best possible outcome. The braces we provide go from the basics to the very complicated. A brace or more formally, orthosis, is named for the joint or joints that the device supports. They can be broken down to four categories: Lower Extremity, Upper Extremity, Spinal and Cranial

FAQ’s
The length of time your child will need their device is dependent on their condition. It is determined by their doctor. Every child is different!
We recommend supportive shoes such as sneakers. Many wear a shoe that is 1/2-1 size larger than their true size to allow space for their braces. BILLY Footwear shoes are designed to be worn with braces and are very popular with our patients.
A sock running the full length of the brace should always be worn underneath the brace. For leg braces (AFOs), that means socks that end just below the knee.
Devices for children typically last about a year before needing to be replaced due to growth. Adjustments are often necessary every four to six months to accommodate their growth.
Most braces are worn all day, and taken off to go to sleep, unless you are instructed otherwise. Wear time should be slowly increased over time according to our Wear & Care Guide.
Some light redness is expected and normal. It should fade in about 20-30 minutes. Severe redness that does not fade, blisters, or open wounds are NOT okay. Have your child stop using the device immediately, and make an appointment with us for an adjustment.
Schedule an adjustment if you see any of the following: severe redness that does not fade within 20-30 minutes, blisters, and wounds. You can also take a photo of the problem area and send it to us in an email. We’ll let you know if you need to come in. For more information, see our Wear & Care Guide.
Wash your orthoses periodically with a mild detergent, such as dish soap. Rubbing alcohol can also be used to really disinfect them. Allow them to air dry completely before using them again.
DO NOT wash the brace(s) in a dishwasher or washing machine. Do not clean them with anything you would not use directly on your skin.
